Current Interests & Learning

At Horden Nursery our curriculum is carefully planned and structured to provide rich experiences, which support children’s needs and interests by building on what they already know and can do.

We observe the children closely and tune into their natural curiosities, needs and interests . Our child-centred approach to learning gives children confidence and self-esteem to be involved in planning and directing their own learning. We want children to take a lead in their own learning, with the adult working alongside them to support and facilitate them.

Alongside the children’s interests, we also incorporate opportunities for learning linked to seasonal changes and special times of the year, such as planting bulbs that will bloom in the Spring, Chinese New Year, Diwali and Mother’s Day.

Please click on the different terms in the menu, to take a look at some of the lovely learning that is happening in our nursery.
