From April 2015, we have been able to claim Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) funding to support children’s development, learning and care. The Government allocates extra money per pupil if their family meet certain criteria in relation to their household income. Research has shown that these children are more likely to under achieve. As a result the EYPP funding is specifically allocated to support the school in ensuring that these children reach their full potential in the Early Years.
EYPP funding is used to help ‘close the gap’ between the lowest achieving children and those who are making age appropriate progress or above. At Horden Nursery School, we use this funding to ensure that quality provision is made to secure outstanding teaching and learning opportunities which meet the needs of all children.
We are accountable to the DfE, Ofsted, Governors and the whole school community in reporting the way in which our funding is used. We are required to demonstrate the positive impact it has on EYPP children’s progress.
