Safe Internet Use

March 3, 2019 by natalieparkinson

Children of different ages, including those of nursery age, enjoy using technology. Often they will go online to play games, watch videos or use the internet to find out more about their world.

It is very important that we understand our children’s internet use and ensure that we keep them safe while they are online.

We will be handing out a leaflet that supports safe internet use for children under 5 years old. Please ensure that you pick up a copy or speak to your child’s key person if you do not receive one.

Please click the link below to find out more information on keeping young children safe online-

Chinese New Year 2019

March 3, 2019 by natalieparkinson

We celebrated Chinese New Year, the Year of the Pig, across the week of Monday 11th February. We learnt about how people celebrate and tried a range of Chinese food. Together we created a Chinese dragon and took part in a traditional dance.

Other experiences included rice and noodle messy play, painting and drawing Chinese symbols and trying on authentic Chinese costumes.

A visit from Zoolab

January 17, 2019 by natalieparkinson

Following on from children’s interests in mini beasts and animals, we had a visit from Zoolab. An elf named Chelsea told us a story about Santa and his elves visiting countries across the world. She explained that Santa met lots of different creatures while he was on his journey. As Chelsea told us the story, she introduced us to the creatures and we got the chance to hold them or stroke them. This was a fantastic experience where we learnt lots of new facts.

January 6, 2019 by natalieparkinson

We would like to thank all of our families for their kind donations for Children in Need. It was lovely to see our children attending nursery in bright and spotty clothes, to support this special charity.

The children took part in lots of fun activities and we read the story ‘Pudsey’s Great Fundraiser’. We had great fun taking part in our own danceathon.

January 6, 2019 by natalieparkinson

This week we have been talking about Remembrance Sunday, learning about why we commemorate the service men and woman who fought for our country. One of our teachers brought in black and white photographs showing the special uniforms that the soldiers wore. We looked at medals that belonged to a relative and even had the chance to try them on!
